Mike Burke was the head coach at Bishop Timon-St. Jude, a private high school in Buffalo, from 2003 to 2015, a span during which he built the Tigers into a national powerhouse and won seven Monsignor Martin Championships – the private league crown in Buffalo and New York’s Section VI.
In 2016, Mike was named head coach at St. Francis High School, his alma mater and an area powerhouse in athletics. Mike has coached some of the game’s top players in his time on the Buffalo lacrosse scene. Most recently, he coached Tewaaraton finalist Connor Fields (Albany), as well as Adam DiMillo (Maryland) and many others. Active as a coach in the summer, his various travel teams showed well on the travel circuit under his leadership. In 2011, Mike coached the championship Western NY team at the Nike Cup tournament in Syracuse.
A native of Buffalo, Mike is a 2001 graduate of SUNY Cortland, where he majored in economics. He went to attend Canisius College, where while pursuing his master’s degree in Sports Administration he competed for the Griffins at the NCAA Division I level for one season.
Mike lives in Buffalo with his wife, Melissa, and their two daughters, Abigail and Emma. He works as a banker in addition to coaching.
