Diablo Valley LC - Summer 2018 Registration
3d NorCal is excited to launch our new Diablo Valley LC summer program in partnership with the Diablo Scorpion youth organization. The LC model has seen success all over the country in different 3d regions, and we’re excited to bring that model to a growing lacrosse population in these East Bay communities.
This program will field teams at the 14U, 12U, and 10U levels. The teams will train in the 3d Methodology system and compete in 2 local Bay Area tournaments.
3d NorCal Director Mike Kruger is excited about the summer program. “The LC model gives us an opportunity to help these youth organizations grow in numbers and player development, with the goal of stronger rec clubs and eventually stronger area high school programs as a result.”
Kruger continued, “We’ve seen a stunted growth in Bay Area boy’s lacrosse participation over the past few years. Opportunities for training and development seem geared toward A-Level or select travel team players, with fewer opportunities for less-experienced or beginner-level players. A good way to keep the sport growing and keep players involved is to provide opportunities outside of select travel lacrosse programs. Lower cost, less travel, an opportunity to train with professional coaches in an elite Methodology System, and play with friends in the community. What could be better?”
As a training and development company, 3d is excited to work with these youth organizations to promote lacrosse on a more local level.
Scorpion President Don Colman hopes this will foster more pride in the local community, and encourage these groups of players to stay together as they age up toward high school.
3d NorCal Director and San Ramon Valley Head Coach Mike Kruger plans to oversee the training of both programs while local 3d alumni will help coach these players in the tournaments.
Player development and team training is the most important aspect of a youth or scholastic lacrosse player’s experience, but yet tends to be the least emphasized component of club lacrosse nationwide. 3d Lacrosse consistently produces structured training camp scenarios that foster learning and rapid player development that will undoubtedly help a player achieve a higher level of overall performance.
Players will be immersed in the 3d Lacrosse Methodology, which thrusts them into high-speed, high-repetition, scenarios featuring playmaking in tight spaces and small-sided learning environments. The result is an accelerated development of player IQ and stick skills, as players benefit from a far greater number of touches in these scenarios than what is typically provided by a traditional field lacrosse practice.
