3d Dallas October Lacrosse IQ Series
This program is focused specifically on developing lacrosse IQ and features three one-hour sessions over the course of three weeks. A key aspect college coaches look for in prospects is lacrosse IQ, as players with a high lacrosse IQ have a significant advantage over their competition and can develop more rapidly over time.
The 3d Dallas October Lacrosse IQ series will offer advanced teaching for both offensive and defensive players aimed at building the athlete's understanding of the game and game situations. Offensively, participants will learn the following: playing from X and using the crease and defender's positioning to their advantage, different types of cuts (C-cuts, jump cuts, dive cuts), various picks (slam/book, razor, swing), inverts and different motion actions (fly by, cross, flips, shallows, mirrors, and weaves).
Defensive IQ will focus on holding stick properly, defending at X, defending picks (NBA, switching, holding and when/where to use each technique based on ball location), advanced checking and footwork (hip turn vs. drop steps, slow playing attackmen at X, and approaches).
This program is designed to focus more on the when, where and why, as opposed to running high-tempo drills. Players will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive a more in-depth understanding of how to think and see the field during competition and real game scenarios.
