Connecticut Winter Box Lacrosse League 2021 Registration

Connecticut Winter Box Lacrosse League 2021 Registration

Program Overview

3d New England South is pleased to announce our Sixth Season of the very sought after Connecticut Winter Box Lacrosse League (CT WBLL). For 2021, our season will be 8 Sunday events in January and February.  The Winter Box Lacrosse League will consist of a six-game regular season, followed by playoffs and a championship game scheduled for February 28, 2021.

Each team will consist of 15-18 players and a goalie (3d Lacrosse will provide goalie gear – see below). Players will receive 45 minutes of training from expert box lacrosse coaches prior to starting game play. Coaches will be teaching how to play the indoor game, the differences in rules, as well as areas that will help your field game. The repetition in drills prior to the games are equally as important, if not more important, than the games themselves. Players will come away with a new understanding of pick and rolls both offensively and defensively as well as learn new moves and techniques which they have an opportunity to work on and showcase in the forty-minute running game.

All players will receive Custom Team Colored Box Jerseys and a Winter Hat.

***  We will be limited to only 8 teams this winter due to field and space restrictions.

COVID CONCERNS We will take all COVID precautions very seriously which will include but not be limited to the following.  Play this year will be limited to ONE field.  Players MUST wear a FACE MASK at all times entering and exiting the facility and field.  Parents will not be permitted in the facility without special permission to reduce the number of people inside the facility.  On Field During Game Play – Masks and/or Full Face Shields are highly encouraged during game play but will not be required.  All players MUST complete a COVID Self Check Questionnaire prior to each game and we MAY be taking temperatures of ALL players prior to starting practice.  Players Bench areas will be spaced out to allow more room between players.  GOALIE PADS:  Each team will be issued a single set of Goalie Pads – leg pads, chest protector, goalie pants and gloves – that will ONLY BE USED by that TEAM and that team’s goalie. There will BE NO SHARING OF GOALIE EQUIPMENT!  Ultimately, staying safe during these challenging times will fall 100% on the individual players to be accountable, responsible and respectful of all the rules in place at all times – not just during our Box Games.

Why Box Lacrosse Training?

Box lacrosse has become quickly recognized as one of the best ways for players to hone in on their skills. The tight confinements of the box playing area, forces players to shoot/pass quicker and faster while still being a deceptive shooter/passer. Box lacrosse is very fundamental, however, there is times when players have to be creative in order to ensure a good pass and/or shot. In 3d lacrosse we have broken down these creative skill sets and our goal is to teach our players how to bring these skills to their field game.
