Oceanside Hustle Returns to SoCal with a Splash as Eleven Champions Crowned
OCEANSIDE, Calif.—3d Lacrosse’s Oceanside Hustle returned to the SoCal Sports Complex this past weekend as 11 champions were crowned just minutes from the Pacific Ocean and the North County beaches.
More than 90 teams and more than 20 college coaches were in attendance for the annual tournament that draws athletes from across the continent and has become one of the premiere lacrosse events on the West Coast.
“This really turned out to be a great weekend of lacrosse, with a lot of exciting games and some really competitive divisions where teams had to play their best to win a championship,” said Mike Bartlett, 3d Lacrosse’s Director of Events.
“We are grateful for the many teams and families that traveled to SoCal for the weekend and helped make this a special experience. We strive to make every tournament we host a premiere event for all our attendees, no matter what .”
Mad Dog, a California-based program, celebrated three championships as the 2020/2021 girls division was captured by Mad Dog OC and Mad Dog West boys teams took home titles in the 2022 and 2025 divisions. Meanwhile, Denver-based 3d Colorado won two boys championships (2023 and 2024) and Portland-based 3d Oregon won two girls titles (2024 and 2025/2026).
Despite some challenging weather conditions, the Oceanside Hustle turned out to be a weekend-long celebration of the sport as teams didn’t let the elements impact their desire to compete and families lined the sidelines Saturday and Sunday to take in the action.
Paul Stolzer, the CEO of New Wave Lacrosse, brought a team to SoCal from Chicago like he does each year.
“As usual, our experience at the Oceanside Hustle, as well as all of the 3d events we attend, was an exceptional experience,” Stolzer said.
“This event is run in a professional manner with no detail left to question. Given the poor weather prior and during the event, the staff at 3d did a yeoman's job keeping things under control, on schedule and professional. We will continue to frequent the 3d events because they know how to do it right.”
Like at all of 3d Lacrosse’s events, the Denver-based company’s lineup of partners was also on hand throughout the weekend, including official retail partner Lax.com and official gear partner STX Lacrosse. Stylax, the official tournament apparel provider, was also on site at the Oceanside Hustle with a full lineup of customized goods.
