DENVER — For 3d Lacrosse, 2017 was a fantastic year of lacrosse on all fronts as the company continued toward its mission of growing the game of lacrosse, advancing the knowledge of the sport, helping players improve their skills and IQ and creating opportunities for lacrosse players and coaches.

With several major partnerships established, enhanced programming and additional events, 3d Lacrosse offered more opportunities to today’s young lacrosse player in 2017 than ever before, and the momentum foreshadows the excitement for the future as we approach the New Year.

Here’s a look at some of 3d Lacrosse’s biggest stories of the year — stories that will help shape the future of our company heading into 2018.

 

New 3d Lacrosse Markets

3d Lacrosse was proud to announce two new markets in 2017. Our 3d Garden State market is led by Patrick Tuohy out of Westfield, New Jersey and our 3d Great Lakes market is led by Mike Burke out of Buffalo, NY.

3d Lacrosse Takes Over Management of the United Women’s Lacrosse League

3d Lacrosse took over the operation of the United Women's Lacrosse League in 2017 to advance girls and women's lacrosse Nationwide. The partnership will aim to create a better experience for the league's players and its fans.

3d Lacrosse Names Regy Thorpe Chief Lacrosse Officer

Thorpe began overseeing all aspects of 3d Lacrosse's Methodology as the head of 3d's Master Coaching Circuit in 2017. Thorpe will be overseeing the advancement of the 3d Methodology and will work to evolve 3d's leading-edge approach to training lacrosse players for the rapid progression of skill and IQ.

3d Lacrosse, Nike Lacrosse Team Up To Present Iroquois Golden Eagles Travel Team at FLG in 3d Fall Shootout

3d Lacrosse and Nike Lacrosse teamed up to bring a world-class club experience to a group of young Native American student-athletes. The team represented a random mix of student-athletes from different reservations such as Akwesasne, Cattaraugus and Six Nations. Of the 23 players, many had never competed at a club field tournament of any sort. The players were outfitted in Nike Lacrosse, including the new Thompson Brothers-inspired limited edition Nike Alpha Huarache 6 Elite Lax cleat and Nike Uniforms featuring the Golden Eagles logo.

STX Rising Platform Evolving for 2018

Heading into 2018, 3d Lacrosse is making additions and subtractions to the STX Rising Showcase Series to create more valuable offerings for players and college coaches faced with a rapidly-morphing lacrosse recruiting landscape. The 2nd STX Rising DI Showcase for boys will be held in July of 2018, along with the first ever STX Rising Girls Showcase.

Harlem Lacrosse Players See Rapid Advancement in Year Four of Partnership with 3d Lacrosse

A not-for-profit organization that uses lacrosse as a tool to put disadvantaged students on a better path for success, Harlem Lacrosse recently wrapped up another summer of working directly with Denver-based 3d Lacrosse to train and field Harlem select travel teams. 

Having worked together since 2014, 3d Lacrosse and Harlem formally launched Harlem’s first travel club squads in 2016.

3d Lacrosse and Ferrari of Denver Partner for Holiday Toy Drive to Benefit Children's Hospital Colorado

Kicked off with a two-week collection period, the Holiday Toy Drive amassed nearly $20,000 worth of gifts — an estimated 3,000 presents in total — for the Colorado-based hospital serving a seven-state region thanks to a partnership that blossomed last year between 3d Lacrosse and Ferrari of Denver.

The Holiday Toy Drive culminated this week with a gala Tuesday night at the Ferrari of Denver dealership, where hundreds of community members gathered to raise funds and collect additional gifts for Children’s Colorado. In addition to piles of gifts in all shapes and sizes, silent auctions and donations raised nearly $8,000 to be donated to the hospital.
