IRVINE, Calif. — The Riptide, 3d Lacrosse’s summertime Pacific Coast team tournament, brought 85 teams to SoCal the weekend of June 30 and July 1 in just the fourth year of the event.

Ten teams celebrated divisional championships just minutes from the beach on Sunday afternoon.

Held at Orange County Great Park in Irvine, Calif., The Riptide is 3d Lacrosse’s summer Pacific Coast tournament and represents 3d’s ability to build large-scale events sustainably. Started in 2015, The Riptide saw attending teams competing across six boys divisions and four girls divisions.

Teams at The Riptide came from up and down the West Coast, including Canada, and this year’s event drew about 35 college coaches from around the country.

“We want to offer tournaments at different times of the year and in different spots to give players all over the continent the chance to compete and be seen by college coaches,” said Mike Bartlett, 3d Lacrosse’s Director of Events.

Bartlett said the goal with The Riptide is to build a full weekend of lacrosse to make it a great experience for teams and players alike. Located

“With The Riptide, we are growing the talent pool at the event and drawing more coaches each year and we know it’s turning into a premiere summer destination event. We’re adding new features each year to create a better experience each year.”

The Riptide vendor village featured 3d Lacrosse’s official gear partner, STX Lacrosse, as well as 3d’s official retail partner, Lax.com. Stylax was on site as the official apparel vendor, while 3d video partner NextPro provided video services to the attending teams.

Here’s a look at the champions across each division at this year’s The Riptide.
