3d Lacrosse, Inside Lacrosse Team Up to Present Southern Retreat Fall Recruiting Tournament
ORLANDO, Fla. — 3d Lacrosse and Inside Lacrosse have joined forces to announce the Southern Retreat, a new fall boys lacrosse tournament, to be hosted in Florida in November 2019.
Taking place at the Boombah Sports Complex in Sanford, just north of Orlando and Disney Resorts, the Southern Retreat will be held Nov. 23 and 24 and will feature a championship format with two divisions for scholastic-age players—Boys High School Elite and Boys High School Rising.
Each team will be guaranteed five games over the course of two days, including three pool-play matchups and two playoff bracket contests.
“We know that some teams, athletes and their families are looking for a better, more enjoyable experience out of their fall lacrosse travels,” said Mike Bartlett, 3d Lacrosse’s Director of Events.
“So we’ve been working to deliver a refreshing and exciting weekend of lacrosse at a new tournament in an inviting setting and a warm-weather climate. Additionally, we believe this will provide a better platform for college recruiters to get the most out of a fall weekend on the road. It’s thrilling to team up with Inside Lacrosse to offer a premiere opportunity like this.”
3d Lacrosse, based in Denver and founded in 2009, hosts tournaments, showcases and other lacrosse events across the country that draw more than 25,000 annually, including the Denver Shootout in Colorado, the Oceanside Hustle in Southern California and the Mayflower Invitational in Massachusetts.
