DAVENPORT, Fla.— 3d Lacrosse, the nation’s premiere lacrosse training and events company, closed out 2020 by crowning five champions at the third annual Tropical Thaw Presented by New Balance held Dec. 28 to 30 in Central Florida.
Winners battled for titles across five boys divisions at Northeast Regional Park, just a short drive from the Disney theme parks and resorts, as nearly 40 teams spent three days competing in the sunshine.
“This has become one of our favorite events in just a few years’ time,” said Mike Bartlett, 3d Lacrosse’s Director of Events. “This time of year has been an important time for clubs to compete, and we’re thrilled that we’ve been able to turn this into a year-end tradition for a number of notable programs.”
Social distancing measures and safety protocols were in place at the facility, which has been home to many 3d Lacrosse-operated events over the years.
Championship squads were awarded commemorative Tropical Thaw neck gaiters featuring the event logo.
“This year was unique in that we had a lot of the newly formed 3d National teams here to get dialed in and that helped make for an exciting and competitive weekend with an awesome overall mix of club programs represented,” Bartlett said.
