The college season is well under way, and significant has been the impact that 3d Lacrosse alumni have had so far across the NCAA landscape.

In our second edition of our 3d Alumni in the College Ranks feature, we see additional players -- both men and women -- trained in the 3d Methodology and making a greater contributions for their respective teams.  

Follow us throughout the year as we root for the young men and women making us proud out on college lacrosse fields this season. 

Men’s Division I

Austin Smith, Midfield, Air Force, Senior - 3d Colorado, J.K. Mullen, CO
Austin has helped the Falcons to two straight wins, an 8-3 victory over Canisius and a 16-2 win over Cleveland State. The senior middie chipped in two assists in the victory over Cleveland. He also scooped up two ground balls in the winning effort.

Sean LaVine, Defense, Air Force, Junior - 3d Colorado, Fairview, CO
Sean has continued to be a starter on the defensive end for Air Force. He picked up a season-high three groundballs in a win over Cleveland State. He currently has four caused turnover which is good enough to be tied for a team high.

Paxton Boyer, Goalie, Air Force, Freshman - 3d Colorado, Mountain Vista, CO
Paxton backstopped his team to two wins. He allowed just three goals in a win over Canisius and two in the team’s win over Cleveland. He’s allowing just 8.61 goals per game and is saving the ball at a 47.5 percent clip.

Thomas Schmidt, Midfield, Boston University, Sophomore - 3d New England, Trinity Pawling, NY
Thomas recorded his first point of the season with a goal in a 12-9 win over Bryant on February 28th. The sophomore midfielder has played in every game this season helping the Terriers out to a 6-0 start and has chipped in with two groundballs for his team.

Larken Kemp, LSM, Brown, Senior - 3d New England, Phillips Andover Academy, MA
Larken has continued to be one of the top contributors on the defensive end of the field for the Bears. The senior LSM is tied for second on the team with 15 groundballs adding six in a 13-11 loss to Rutgers. He is also currently tied for a team high four caused turnovers.

Jack Collins, Midfield, Brown, Junior - 3d New England, Taft, CT
Jack has played in every game for the Bears this season. He recorded his first goal of the season in a 25-17 loss to Stony Brook on February 25th.

Jeff Teat, Attack, Cornell, Freshman - 3d Can-Am, The Hill Academy, ON
Jeff has settled into a starting attack spot for the Big Red. He scored a season-high two goals in a 16-8 loss to Albany on February 25th. He’s leading the team with 15 shots and has scooped up two groundballs this season.

Colton McCaffrey, Attack, Denver, Junior - 3d Colorado, Chaparral, CO
Colton has helped his team to wins over Canisius and Cleveland State. He scored 2 goals and added 2 assists in a 12-0 win over Canisius which tied him for a game high 4 points. He also added a goal in his team’s win over Cleveland.

Dylan Johnson, Defense, Denver, Sophomore - 3d Colorado, Cherry Creek, CO.
Dylan has continued to be a fixture on the defense for the Pioneers, having started every game and helping them to a 4-1 start. The sophomore defender helped his team record their first shutout in team history with a 12-0 victory over Canisius on February 26th. He leads the team with four caused turnovers.

Jake O’Donnell, Attack, Drexel, Junior - 3d San Diego, Poway, CA
Jake has moved into a starting role over the past two games and contributed an assist in each of those games. He currently has three assists and one goal for his team.

Matt Giampetroni, Midfield, Duke, Junior - 3d New England, Cranbrook, MI
Matt scored his first goal of the season in a 16-3 win over St. Josephs on February 25th. He also has an assist this season and has played in three games for the Blue Devils.

Mitch Russell, Attack, Duke, Junior - 3d Colorado, Fort Mill, SC
Mitch has been starting on the attack for the Blue Devils. He scored two goals in a win over St. Josephs. He currently has four goals and one assist this season for the 3-2 Blue Devils.

Eduardo White, Midfield, Georgetown, Senior - 3d Colorado, Kent Denver, CO
Eduardo has scored a goal in each of the past two games. He scored his first goal of the season in an 11-10 loss to Towson on February 25th. He scored again in an 11-9 loss to Hofstra on March 4th. The senior midfielder is currentlky tied for fourth on his team in points.

Wilkins Dismuke, Attack, Johns Hopkins, Senior - 3d Colorado, Rock Canyon, CO
Wilkins has continued his hot start for the Blue Jays. He scored two goals in a 13-5 win over North Carolina and added another goal and an assist in a loss to Princeton. The senior attackman is currently tied for the team lead in goals with 10 and is second on the team with 11 points.

Pat Fraser, Midfield, Johns Hopkins, Junior - 3d New England, Dexter, MA
Pat scored a goal in Hopkins big win over the reigning national champs North Carolina. His lone tally was on a man-up opportunity for his team and it took his season total of 3 EMO goals leads the Blue Jays.

Christian Wolter, Midfield, Michigan, Senior - 3d New England, Hanover, NH
Christian had a big game against Mercer, which turned out to be an 11-6 win for the Wolverines. He scored a goal and added an assist in the victory. The senior is helping his team out by getting the ball off the ground with five groundballs also.

Ryder Garnsey, Attack, Notre Dame, Freshman - 3d New England, Brewster Academy, NH/ Phillips Andover Academy, MA
Ryder has continued to do a lot of scoring for the Irish. In a 16-5 victory over Michigan he scored two goals and added two assists. In a low scoring game over the then-No. 1-ranked Maryland Terrapins, he scored a goal and assisted on another to help his team secure the 5-4 victory. He’s leading his team in goals and assists currently with nine and five respectively. 

Pierre Byrne, Midfield, Notre Dame, Junior - 3d Colorado, Culver Military Academy, IN
Pierre is off to a good start to his junior year. He scored two goals in the Irish’s 16-5 win over Michigan. He scooped up two big groundballs in his team’s 5-4 win over Maryland.

Matt Florence, Midfiled, Penn State, Senior- 3d Colorado, Kent Denver, CO
Matt has been playing big minutes for the Nittany Lions. He scored a goal and dished out one assist in his team’s one-goal 14-13 win over Penn. He currently has two goals and two assists on the season.

Mike Morean, Midfield, Princeton, Sophomore- 3d Colorado, Cherry Creek, CO
Mike scored his first two goals of the season in the Tigers' 18-7 win over Johns Hopkins. He has also scooped up four groundballs this season.

Kyle Pless, LSM, Rutgers, Sophomore- 3d Colorado, Mountain Vista, CO
Kyle has helped his team out to a 5-0 record. He picked up his first assist of the season in a 12-5 win over Wagner. He is third on the team in groundballs with 16 and has been instrumental in the Scarlet Knights transition game.

Jason Brewster, Defense, UMBC, Sophomore- 3d San Diego, Valley Center, CO
Jason scored his first goal of the season in the Retrievers 8-6 loss to Towson. He’s started every game on defense for his team and he’s second on the team in caused turnovers with eight and has helped out with 10 groundballs.

Matt Gudas, Midfield, Vermont, Junior- 3d New England, Holderness School, NH
Matt had a season high four points with one goal and three assists in an 8-6 loss to Providence. He has scored a goal in all but one game and has five so far this season.

UVM v. Harvard 3.4 recap

Tanner Scales, Defense, Virginia, Senior - 3d Colorado, Regis Jesuit, CO
Tanner has continued to start every game for the Cavaliers and guards one of the top offensive threats of their opponents. He scooped up five groundballs in an 18-15 win over High Point on March 1st. He’s currently fourth on the team in groundballs with 21 and is second on the team with 8 caused turnovers.

 

Joe French, Attack, Virginia, Senior - 3d New England, St. Michaels, ON/ Deerfield Academy, MA
Joe had a season high three goals against High Point in his team’s 18-15 win. He also added an assist that game. The senior is fifth on the team with 8 goals this season to go along with his 4 assists.

Women’s Division I

Morgan Shorts, Attack, Army, Freshman - 3d San Diego, Oak Park, CA
Morgan is off to a good start to her college career. She scored 2 goals in her collegiate debut against Marist. She has 4 goals for the season and has helped her team out to a 4-1 start. 

Dempsey Arsenault, Midfield, Boston College, Freshman - 3d New England, New Hampton School, N.H.
Dempsey has scored 5 goals so far this season for the Eagles. In her most recent game against Navy she had a season high 2 goals and 1 assist for 3 points. She has played in and started 7 of her team’s games.

Taylor Cuenin, Midfield, UC Davis, Sophmore - 3d NorCal, San Ramon Valley, CA
Taylor is currently the leading scorer for the Aggies. Her 14 goals and 6 assists are both team highs. She is also leading the team in draw controls with 19 and groundballs with 23.

Asa Goldstock, Goalie, Syracuse, Freshman - 3d New England, New Hampton School, NH
Asa has started all 7 games of her freshman season and has helped the Orange out to a 7-0 start. She is averaging 7.89 goals against and is saving the ball at .505%. 10 saves in her first game of the season against Boston College is her highest total this season.

Division III

Cody Tranbarger, Goalie, Amherst, Senior- 3d Colorado, Trinity, KY
Cody got off to a great start for his team with 16 saves in a 17-12 victory over conference rival Bowdoin. He saved the ball at a 52-percent clip.

Sam Francis, FOGO, Bates, Senior - 3d New England, Newburyport, MA
Sam has helped the Bobcats off to a 3-0 start by dominating the faceoff. He is winning 60.6 percent of his draws thus far.

Tim Bulens, Attack, Bowdoin, Sophomore - 3d New England, Phillips Academy, MA
Tim scored two goals and added an assist in the Polar Bears opening game. He also added three groundballs in the game.

Jimmy Young, Attack, Bowdoin, Freshman - 3d New England, Phillips Exeter Academy, NH
Jimmy earned the start in his first career game and assisted on a goal and picked up three groundballs for the Polar Bears.

PJ Kelleher, Attack, Conn College, Sophomore - 3d New England, Brooks School, MA
PJ handed out three assists in his team’s first game of the season. The three assists was a team high in an 8-6 loss to Middlebury.

JD Hall, LSM, RIT, Junior - 3d Colorado, Arapahoe, CO
JD is off to a great start for the No. 2 ranked RIT Tigers. He scored three goals in a 16-13 win over Stevenson on February 25th. He has also picked up seven groundballs and caused six turnovers only three games into the season.

Taylor Ghesquire, Midfield, Wesleyan, Junior - 3d New England, Cranbrook School, MA
Taylor scored three goals on just five shots in the Cardinals' first game of the season where they came up one goal short in a 15-14 loss.
