3d Alumni in the College Ranks: Feb 23, 2017
With the NCAA season now in full swing, it's time to take a look at the growing number of 3d Lacrosse alumni competing in the college ranks and celebrate some of the accomplishments of those players.
Every year, 3d Lacrosse helps more and more players reach their goal of playing collegiate lacrosse. This year, 3d Lacrosse has players making an impact all over the country, at all levels, and at some of the most respected programs in the sport.
Follow us throughout the year as we root for the young men and women making us proud out on college lacrosse fields this season.
Men’s Division I
Austin Smith, Midfield, Air Force, Senior - 3d Colorado, J.K. Mullen, CO
Austin has played in all three games for the Falcons. He recorded an assist in his team’s 11-10 win over Duke. He has also scooped twi groundballs so far, this season.
Sean LaVine, Defense, Air Force, Junior - 3d Colorado, Fairview, CO
Sean has started all three games this season on defense. He helped his team to a win over then ranked No. 7 Duke. LaVine has two groundballs through three games.
Joe Matarazzo, Midfield, Air Force, Junior - 3d Colorado, Kent Denver, CO
Joe has seen action in all three games for Air Force. He recorded an assist in his team’s 11-10 win over Duke in their opener. He’s also contributed two groundballs this season.
Paxton Boyer, Goalie, Air Force, Freshman - 3d Colorado, Mountain Vista, CO
Paxton has played every minute this season for the Falcons. He’s recorded 29 saves and is allowing just 11.33 goals per game and is saving the ball at .460%. He had a season high 14 saves in his team’s opening game against Duke an 11-10 win.
Thomas Schmidt, Midfield, Boston University, Sophomore - 3d New England, Trinity Pawling, NY
Thomas has played in all three games for the Terrriers helping them get off to a 3-0 record. The have recorded wins over UMass Lowell, Hartford, and a 2OT thriller over Providence in their opener.

Larken Kemp, LSM, Brown, Senior - 3d New England, Phillips Andover Academy, MA
Larken picked up where he left off last season playing a big role in Brown’s opening game victory. He scored one goal and added three assists in the Bears 25-9 win over Quinnipiac. He also scooped a team-high seven groundballs and caused a turnover.
Danny Healey, Defense, Colgate, Sophomore - 3d New England, The Govenor’s Academy, MA
Danny has played in both games this season for the Raiders. He contributed an assist in an 11-8 loss to Binghamton on February 18th. He also added a groundball in his team’s matchup with Binghamton.
Jeff Teat, Attack, Cornell, Freshman - 3d Can-Am, The Hill Academy, ON
Jeff scored a goal in his first collegiate game on Saturday February 18th. Unfortunately, his team came up short in a 20-10 loss to Penn State.

Nick Phillips, Midfield, Denver, Junior - 3d Colorado, Mullen, CO
The junior midfielder has played in both games for the Pioneers helping them out to a 2-0 record. Nick scored a goal in his team’s 14-10 win over Duke. He’s also scooped three groundballs this season.
Dylan Johnson, Defense, Denver, Sophomore - 3d Colorado, Cherry Creek, CO
Dylan enters his second season as a starter for Denver. He has started each of his team’s games, both of which were victories over ranked opponents.
Jake O’Donnell, Attack, Drexel, Junior - 3d San Diego, Poway, CA
Jake, a junior attackman, scored a goal and dished out an assist in the Dragon’s season opening game. He also had one groundball in the 18-14 loss to Virginia.
Matt Giampetroni, Midfield, Duke, Junior - 3d New England, Cranbrook, MI
Matt has played in two games for the Blue Devils. He recorded an assist in his team’s 22-7 victory over Cleveland State.
Mitch Russell, Attack, Duke, Junior - 3d Colorado, Fort Mill, SC
The senior attackman has seen action in all four of his team’s contests. Mitch has two goals and one assist so far this season. He scored in both the win over Cleveland State and a loss to Air Force.
Eduardo White, Midfield, Georgetown, Senior - 3d Colorado, Kent Denver, CO
Eduardo recorded an assist in the Hoyas’ game versus Notre Dame. He’s played in each of his team’s games this season.
Tanner Landstra, Defense, High Point, Senior - 3d Colorado, Indian Hill, OH
Tanner is off to a strong start to his senior season starting all three games for the Panthers. He caused a turnover in a 9-3 win over Georgetown on February 18th.
Bryan Hancock, Midfield, Hobart, Sophomore - 3d Colorado, Mountain Vista, CO
Bryan is off to a strong start to his sophomore season. He is tied for the team lead in goals with five and has also handed out one assist. He scored three goals in a season opening loss to Penn State and scored two in a 16-15 win over Siena. He has also scooped up four groundballs this season.
Wilkins Dismuke, Attack, Johns Hopkins, Senior - 3d Colorado, Rock Canyon, CO
The senior attackman has helped his team out to a 2-0 start by scoring seven goals, which is second on his team. Wilkins scored three goals in each of the first two games against Navy and UMBC. He is also converting his shots at an impressive .538%.
Pat Fraser, Midfield, Johns Hopkins, Junior - 3d New England, Dexter, MA
Pat has started in all three games for the Blue Jays at the midfield. He has four goals this season including one in the OT victory over Loyola on February 18th. He’s also picked up three groundballs and caused a turnover this season.
Kiel Brennan, Midfield, Mercer, Sophomore - 3d Colorado, Mountain Vista, CO
Kiel has played in both games for the Bears and contributed at the face-off x. He is 17-9 on the season, good enough for .654%. He’s also picked up five groundballs.
Brett Quartuccio, Goalie, Mercer, Freshman - 3d Colorado, Regis Jesuit, CO
Brett started his team’s 10-8 win over Detroit Mercy on February 18th. He allowed just six goals in the first half.
Christian Wolter, Midfield, Michigan, Senior - 3d New England, Hanover, NH
Christian has helped his team out to a 4-0 start, contributing in each game. He scored a goal in a 15-10 Wolverine victory over Detroit Mercy. He has also picked up three groundballs this season.
Ryder Garnsey, Attack, Notre Dame, Sophomore - 3d New England, Brewster Academy, NH/ Phillips Andover Academy, MA
Just one game into the season and Ryder is leading his team in goals with six. In the Fighting Irish’s opening game win over Georgetown he also added two assists in the game for a total of eight points, which was a game high.
Pierre Byrne, Midfield, Notre Dame, Junior - 3d Colorado, Culver Military Academy, IN
Pierre assisted on two goals in the Irish’s season opening win against Georgetown. The two points matches his season totals from both his freshman and sophomore seasons.
Jack Jasinski, Attack, Ohio State, Sophomore - 3d Colorado, Oak Mountain, AL
Jack has played in three games and started two for the Buckeyes this season helping them out to a 3-0 start. He scored a goal in 14-8 win over Detroit Mercy. He has also scooped one groundball this season.
Matt Florence, Midfiled, Penn State, Senior - 3d Colorado, Kent Denver, CO
The senior midfielder has started all three games for the Nitany Lions who are off to a 3-0 start. Matt has scored one goal and added one assist so far.
Kyle Pless, LSM, Rutgers, Sophomore - 3d Colorado, Mountain Vista, CO
Kyle has helped the Scarlet Knights out to a 2-0 start. The sophomore LSM has scooped up six groundballs and caused two turnovers so far. He has also helped out at face-off by going 3-5 for .600%.
Jason Brewster, Defense, UMBC, Sophomore - 3d San Diego, Valley Center, CO
The sophomore defender has started every game for the Retrievers. He’s scooped seven groundballs and caused eight turnovers, which is a team high in three games.
Alex Stanko, Midfield, Vermont, Senior - 3d New England, Dexter School, MA/ New Hampton School, NH
Alex has four goals and two assists through three games with the Catamounts. He’s had a point in every game so far and his season high was three goals in his team’s OT win over Mercer. He also has two groundballs.
James Leary, Defense, Vermont, Junior - 3d New England, Governor’s Academy, NH
James has started all three games this season for Vermont. The defender has contributed groundballs and four caused turnovers. He also added an assist in the Catamounts 13-12 OT win over Mercer.
Matt Gudas, Midfield, Vermont, Junior - 3d New England, Holderness School, NH
Matt has scored a goal in each game for his team and has helped them out to a 3-0 record. His biggest goal was the OT game winner against Mercer, and he also added an assist in the game.
Tanner Scales, Defense, Virginia, Senior - 3d Colorado, Regis Jesuit, CO
The senior defender is starting again for the 2-0 Cavaliers. He has six groundballs and four caused turnovers while covering a top offensive player on each team they have played. He was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week for his play against Loyola.
Joe French, Attack, Virginia, Senior - 3d New England, St. Michaels, ON/ Deerfield Academy, MA
Joe has started both games for Virginia and his two goals and one assist has helped his team get off to a 2-0 record. He’s added four groundballs this season as well.
Scott Hooper, Defense, Virginia, Junior - 3d New England, The Hotchkiss School, CT
Scott is a starting defender and that is leading his team in caused turnovers with seven. He also has seven groundballs through two games.
