Kevin O’Brien, 3d Lacrosse Business Development Manager, is currently the Head Varsity Boys Coach at Chatfield High School, Littleton, CO since 2011. Previously Kevin was the Head Coach at Battle Moutain High School outside of Vail, CO. Kevin was recognized as the 2011 Mountain Conference Coach of the Year after leading his team to a 13-2 record in his first year. Kevin was also head coach of the Battle Mountain 8th grade youth team in 2011. In addition to coaching Battle Mountain, Kevin is Co-Founder of Backcountry Lacrosse which holds camps and select teams for youth and high school players in the Vail Valley. In 2010 he served as the Head Varsity Assistant Coach at Battle Mountain High School as well as coach of the Battle Mountain 7th grade team. Before Battle Mountain Kevin was the coach of the Battle Mountain 6th grade team in 2009 and a Battle Mountain 8th grade team in 2008. Before moving to Vail Kevin was working in the construction management business in Denver. In Denver Kevin coached a Denver Lacrosse Club 7th and 8th grade team in 2006 and 2007, respectively. In 2005 he was an assistant coach for the varsity boys team at East High School in Denver. Kevin has also coached many youth and high school summer select teams for a variety of programs since 2006.
Kevin was a member of the University of Denver’s men’s lacrosse program from 1999-2003 and played under Jamie Munro. Before college Kevin attended both the Salisbury School in Connecticut and Glenbrook South High School in suburban Chicago. At Salisbury Kevin earned varsity letters in football, wrestling, and lacrosse during a post graduate year. Kevin was team captain his senior year at Glenbrook South. He was voted both an Illinois All-Conference and Illinois All-Star player in lacrosse for both 1997 and 1998.
