Program Overview

3d is excited to offer Fall Box Lacrosse to girls in Colorado! Box is an awesome way to improve and challenge players to learn new skills sets and play a different style of lacrosse. Below are a handful of reasons as to why we train girls in box lacrosse.

Why Box Lacrosse/Background

3d Lacrosse is committed to providing an outstanding instructional and educational experience and technically-advanced training for all athletes. At 3d Lacrosse, coaches teach authentic box techniques that are staples of the indoor game throughout Canada and all the way up to the professional ranks of the National Lacrosse League.

Competing and training in the tight space and confines of the box, players will get countless touches, more shot reps, more contact — all experience that helps accelerate skill development. Regardless of position, every player will enhance their offensive skills and develop better defensive technique.

Box lacrosse skills and techniques that will focused on include: catching and finishing in tight space, deceptive shooting, creating opportunities off ball, picking and screens, maintaining spacing with teammates and much more. Defensively the focus will be on footwork, and communication. 3d Lacrosse's approach to teaching the box game will put participants on a fast-track for skill development.

Benefits to playing box lacrosse:

• More comfortable with contact and physicality while handling the ball
• It is a skill accelerator as players are forced to use hesitations, deception, and physicality to get to the goal.
• Finishing on small goals through deception and accuracy
• All position, no position – everyone learns how to play offense AND defense
• Mastering the 2-man game which becomes more visible in the college game each year
• Learning how to get open off the ball

League details

We are running open, individual player registration for each division. To provide the best possible program for your girls, we are going to train for the first 40 minutes where we will teach the rules, skills, and concepts of box lacrosse so no one is going in blind. 50 minutes will consist of gameplay. Once we begin game play, we are going to pick new teams each week and play “pick up” style lacrosse. I have copied the finer details regarding the league below:
